[info]moonmelody, thank you for the virtual chocolate! [info]drvsilla, thank you for the lovely Valentine, it arrived exactly on time! \o/ An enormous thank you to anyone who said such lovely, awesome things about me on [info]svmadelyn's Valentine Meme. Thank you so very much.

Happy birthday [info]winterlive!!

[info]little5150d and [info]shadowc44 tagged me for the 10 people that make your day meme. I really hate doing these things because I'm horrible at picking favorites of anything. And there's a LOT more than 10 people who make my day. And I think I generally talk about the same people all the time. So. I know it's a cop out but I can't do it. There's a hell of a lot more than ten people who make me happy on a pretty regular basis and I just don't want to slight a single one of them. ♥

[info]shotofjack tagged me for the 7 weird facts meme. The fact that I am an open book and don't even know how to meausre if traits about me are "weird" any more or not held no water with her.

1. I talk to myself. Quite a lot. Often in movie/TV quotes.
2. Any time I spill salt, I have a furious mental debate about whether to throw any over my shoulder or not.
3. I have never owned a sex toy.
4. I have recurring dreams about my grandparent's town. In the dreams, the town looks nothing like it does in RL, but the dream town is consistent from dream to dream.
5. When I'm out and about, I'll scope places to live if a) I were suddenly homeless b) there was a zombie invasion or c) the apocalypse.
6. I frequently lull myself to sleep by thinking about the stories I'm working on.
7. One of my favorite sandwiches in the world is baloney, salami, ketchup and potato chips.

No one tagged me for this one, but I ganked it from [info]sionnain:

Okay, I need fictional legal advice.

The situation: A gay man agrees to serve as sperm donor for his lesbian friend. The friend has the baby, but dies a few years later. Her partner doesn't want custody and never legally adopted the child. The mother also wants the child to go to the gay man, as the godfather and biological parent. So he takes the child in. The mother's family later decides to sue for custody.

1. I assume that, as the biological parent, that, unless the grandparents can prove he is somehow an unfit parent, the father would be given custodial preference. Is that correct?
2. How prejudicial do you think his homosexuality would be in REALITY, regardless of what the law says?
3. What would the grandparents be looking at/for to prove that the father is an unfit parent? What kind of evidence (beyond character witnesses) could the father to produce to prove his claim of fit parenthood?
4. What's the process of all this? Presumably the grandparents would get an attorney and file a claim...the father would be served with notice he's being sued...then what? My expertise starts and stops with an encyclopedic knowledge of crime shows. *laughs* So any advice, suggestions, embroideries you could give me would be AWESOME.

I know about [info]little_details and I will go over there eventually, if I don't or can't get the answers otherwise, I just prefer to ask at home before I go out and about, yk?

SGA Midway (aka show, I love you so freaking much!)

I've been so spammy today! Is it bad that I don't really feel bad about being spammy on weekends because traffic is so much lighter? Anyway, I'm trying to do a BILLION things at once and I started rewatching SGA 4.17 "Midway" for noise and then all the meta that I was planning to write later just started knocking. So yeah. Midway...

OMG QUITE POSSIBLY MY FAVORITE EP EVER.

Midway. Spoilers ahoy! )
